At EarthVPS, we are continually adding new features and options to suit your needs. As a primarily Linux VPS provider, EarthVPS needs to provide a variety of Linux flavors to fit whatever needs a person has. For example, if you need to use cPanel for your hosting, you generally need CentOS. We offer CentOS 4 and 5, so you can be sure that you will have the requirements for cPanel to run smoothly.
Or, if you’re like me, you prefer Debian for your operating system. Debian happens to be one of my favorites, although it actually isn’t supported by cPanel, but sometimes I don’t need cPanel (such as when running my IRC server, which is fully supported by EarthVPS by the way).
Unfortunately, EarthVPS does not support other OS’s like FreeBSD or Windows, however we are currently working to provide Windows VPS hosting for people who need it.
Here is a list of all of the Linux “flavors” we currently support:
- CentOS 4, 5
- Debian 4, 5
- Fedora Core 12
- SuSe 11
- Ubuntu 9.10
We also are working to provide other Linux flavors as well. The above OS’s are generally 64-bit as well, however we can provide you with the 32-bit architecture if you like. Just open a ticket in your client area and we will get things set up for you quickly.
